Blue Collar Radio was a partnership with Parallel Entertainment I was proud to be the keeper of the brand for Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy.
That first meeting with Jeff taught me a lot about how to approach the channel. Keep it clean and down the middle and it will grow the audience.
I asked the folks at Parallel NOT to VIP me when I went to see the Blue Collar tour in Nashville. Sitting in the back really helped me appreciate the tone of the tour, and thus the tone of the radio station. The thing that got the biggest reaction? “Y’all ever been to the Wal-Mart?”
Blue Collar was regularly the most popular of the comedy channels.
